Boilerplate, three lengths

One line (72 characters)

Endurance coaching for iPhone: one honest answer every morning.

Short (about 280 characters)

Shindo is an endurance-coaching app for iPhone. It reads recovery and training data from Apple Health, computes readiness and training load on the device, and answers one question each morning: what to train today, and why. The numbers are computed; the AI only puts them into words.

Long (about 600 characters)

Shindo is a triathlon and endurance coach for iPhone, built on the premise that the watch you already own is enough: any device that writes to Apple Health is a valid source, and no dedicated multisport watch is required. It reads sleep, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate and workouts, computes readiness and training load on the device, and builds an adaptive weekly plan across swimming, cycling, running, brick sessions and strength. Where the model's wording disagrees with a computed value, the computed value wins.

It builds a weekly training plan with periodization, an 80/20 intensity split and a capped ramp rate, then re-flows the block when life interferes — counting the load you actually absorbed rather than marking a missed session as failure. Every metric is computed deterministically on the iPhone; where the language model's wording disagrees with a computed number, the number wins. Free for readiness, planning and load tracking; the AI interpretation and forward-looking models are a subscription.

Claims that are accurate

Safe to state without checking with us:

  • Computes readiness from sleep, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate and training load, on the device
  • Shows the four drivers behind every readiness score
  • Computes training stress, and fitness, fatigue and form on the standard 42-day and 7-day constants
  • Generates a periodized weekly plan with an 80/20 intensity split and an 8% weekly ramp cap
  • Matches what you actually did against what was planned, counting substitutions, partial and shifted sessions
  • Works with any device that writes to Apple Health — no specific brand required
  • Stores data on the device; no account, no cloud profile, no iCloud sync
  • The AI is opt-in, off by default, and revocable
  • Every widget and Live Activity mode is free

Claims that are NOT accurate

These come up in write-ups of apps in this category and would be wrong about Shindo:

  • “Records your workouts” — it does not. It reads what your device recorded.
  • “Tracks you with GPS” — it does not track live or use background location.
  • “Integrates with Garmin / Strava / Whoop” — there are no direct integrations. Data arrives via Apple Health, whatever wrote it.
  • “Sends workouts to your watch” — it does not send anything to any device.
  • “AI-generated training metrics” — the metrics are deterministic. The AI writes text about them, and may propose a weekly plan that a validator then accepts or rejects.
  • “Uploads your health data to the cloud” — only the specific values a piece of coaching text needs, only with AI consent granted, and never as a stored profile.
  • “Free trial of the app” — the app is free. The seven-day trial is of the optional subscription.
  • “Medical device” or “diagnoses” — neither. It is a training tool.
